Dear John (and FiveDoves readers) -

Possibly - likely - the proverbial "calm before the storm."  NATO continues to press Russia.  The Russian response will likely be the demonstrative detonation of a nuclear device before the whole world, not to kill anybody or break anything, but just to announce capability and resolve.  The intent will be to display on every TV set on the planet that Russia perceives an existential threat and is reluctant but willing to use nuclear weapons if that is necessary.

I'd expect that the western media will not cover the event.  The average American will remain ignorant - and blissfully so - of what our leaders are fomenting.  As I wrote in The Fuse Is Lit on October 11th of last year, most Americans seem to think that war is something that "only happens to other people in distant places, and can largely be avoided by changing the channel."  This time, the results and implications will hit very close to home.  Ignorance will not be possible, nor will be escape.

According to WarNews247 we are just "a breath away."  There are speculations of rapture dates from today (allegedly "Ascension Day") through Eastern Orthodox Pentecost on June 23rd.  I try to warn, but no one's particularly interested.  The folks I'd most like to speak to (mostly family members) won't listen.  Genesis 19:14 comes to mind.  Often.

I know you've had a few rough weeks recently and hope you are well.  I fully expect to see you soon.  Genesis 45:20 also comes to mind.  We will travel light, as the King and the best of His kingdom will soon be ours.
