In reply to your 06/11 post you asked for an online link for the book of Enoch that makes reference to "the Grigori" who came to Earth and mated with women resulting in the giants mentioned in Genesis 6:4.It is from a book called the "Secrets of Enoch," "a new fragment of early literature recently found in Russia and Servia, preserved only in Slavonic. Little is know of its origin except that in its present form it was written somewhere about the beginning of the Christian era. Its final editor was Greek and its place of composition Egypt. Its value lies in its unquestionnable influence which it has exerted on the writers of the New Testament. Although the very knowledge that such a book ever existed was lost for about 1,200 years, it nevertheless was much used by both Christian and heretic in the early centuries and forms a most valuable document in any study of the forms of early Christianity. It is a strange dramatization of eternity --- with views on Creation, Anthropology and Ethics."Since it's origin was only recently discovered, it is likely Ivan Panin did not test it like the other apocryphal books, so it most likely doesn't contain the numerical "Signature of God" to prove Divine inspiration. The Grigori are mentioned in Chapter XVIII as being on the 5th heaven (plain/dimension?) where there was "no service." There Enoch saw "countless soldiers of human appearance called Grigori. Their size was greater than that of great giants." Their faces were withered and their mouths silent. Enoch wondered why there was "no service on this heaven." It says three of them went down to Earth. They saw the daughters of men, how good they are, and took to themselves wives, and befouled the Earth with their deeds who in all times of their age made lawlessness and mixing, and giants are born and marvellous big men and great enmity. And, therefore, God judged them with great judgment and they weep for their brethren and they will be punished on the Lord's great day." Enoch says he saw their brethren (who rebelled against God; an apparent reference to the 1/3 fallen angels) and their works and torments and he prayed for them, but the Lord has condemned them (their brethren) to be under Earth till Heaven and Earth shall end forever. Angels can also look human but they are supernatural, unlike humans, and can appear and disappear at will. This leads to the possibility that the Grigori were physical human beings (with seed for reproduction) as opposed to supernatural angellic beings. This would explain how they were able to mate with Earth's women because they were human/human-like.2) It also says there was no "service" where they lived. What is meant by that? It doesn't sound like Heaven to me. Besides, what was a military race of human-looking men doing in heaven where all is peace? This leads me to believe these men were actually from another dimension that is being called "heaven" due to ancient writers not knowing there are at least 13 dimensions (possibly more). A hint to this possibility is that God told a Jewish fellow during his NDE that the alien "greys" we hear so much about, who are abducting humans, are from "another dimension."3) It also says the Grigori sided with Satan but weren't punished like the 1/3rd angels. Why not?4) It corroborates the Bible that says the 1/3rd fallen angels are being held in "chains of darkness, until Judgment Day." This means they aren't free to roam around and cause trouble today as many modern authors espouse. As for the devil being the "serpent" in Revelation 12:9, that is a metaphor. "A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that isn’t literally true, but helps explain an idea or make a comparison." Brides of satan say he is human-looking, dark-haired and handsome, but his eyes are dark and cold, with no love in them. Isaiah 14:16 also says that people will look at satan someday and ask "Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;..?"The idea of satan being like the serpent in "a lying down position," that would also be a metaphor, because he goes everywhere and still has narrow access to Heaven, whereas the serpent in the Garden of Eden - and to this day - has no alternative. You said, "The sons of God in Job 38:7 were with God before the creation of the Earth so they are not the sons of men." Actually, we are eternal beings who existed before coming here. God alluded to that in Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the belly I knew you.."
In many near death experiences (NDE) people report they were given the opportunity to choose who would be their parents in this life before they even came. The Biblical definition of "sons of God" (John 1:12) is "heirs to salvation" (Hebrews 1:14). One lady tells in a video ( Shown 70 yrs. into the future: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFS2c1hl6kA ) that she and two of her kids were murdered by her husband. After dying, she went to Heaven where God told her He was going to have to send her back. However, she didn't want to go. God then informed her that she had "signed a contract" with Him before going to Earth the first time and she needed to go back to Earth to fulfill the rest of that contract. Therefore, it wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination that we were "the sons of God who shouted for joy" at the beauty of God's creation before coming here to experience it knowing that in spite of the fall of Adam and Eve, we would be saved and have the title "sons of God." God is not locked into time like we are. He is past, present and future all in one. He is omnipresent. He can go into the future to fulfill the past and vice versus. Nothing is too hard for Him.You said, "I believe the Bible is true." Yes it is. So then we must acknowledge that what God said is true, that He never called angels His son(s). Last time I checked the word "never" meant just that. Breaking the law" does not entitle angels to become the "sons of God" either. God wouldn't reward their disobedience by letting them suddenly grow the sexual organs and seed for reproduction necessary to "enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season." God wouldn't do that. Instead, He punishes disobedience.
I will address the issue of Sodom and Gomorrah in a separate email. No doubt, the information will surprise you, as it did me and all who read it.
