"REPLY TO GINO:  Why Was The Ark Outside The House of the Lord?"

This is in reply to your 6/18 post why was it outside? (fivedoves.com)  If you go back and read 2 Chronicles 34:8-33, the house of the Lord (temple) had to be repaired as it was in ruins.  The book of the law of the Lord given to Moses was also found by Hilkiah the priest in the temple, and he had Shaphan the scribe read it to King Josiah.  The King rent his clothes after it was read to him because the wrath of God had been poured out on them because their fathers had not kept the word of the Lord to do all that was written in the book of the law. The king then had the book of the law read to all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and they all agreed to perform the words of the covenant written in the book.  That is when they kept the Passover unto the Lord in Jerusalem on Nisan 14th.  It is also when the ark of the covenant was put back into the house or temple that Solomon had built after they had repaired the temple that was in ruins.  They may have removed the ark of the covenant from the Holy of Holies so that part of the temple could be repaired, but the Bible doesn't say where the ark was prior to it being outside of the temple.
