This is in reply to your 6/04 post dark light (fivedoves.com) in which you asked if there was such a thing as dark light, and you listed Matt. 6:23 which says, "But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!"
This is really about having the spiritual eyes (spiritual understanding with the help of the Holy Spirit) or light to see the truth or being spiritually blind and not able to see the darkness or sin in one's own life. It's when a person sees things in a different light of Satan who can appear as an angel of light so the sin looks good to them rather than evil. For example, instead of seeing the truth in the Bible that abortion is the sin of pre-meditated murder, abortion is seen as women's rights. Instead of homosexuality, fornication or adultery seen as sins, they are seen as love or loving one another. So the evil eye can't see or doesn't want to see the sin as sin. It sees the sin in their life in a different light than the light of the truth contained in God's word, the Bible. The light of truth exposes the sin for what it is.
Matthew 6:22-23, "The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!"
Luke 11:34-36, "The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light."
Psalm 119:105, " Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
Psalm 119:130, "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple."
2 Corinthians 11:13-14, "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."
