When an anchor is  used for a ship, it grabs hold of the ground beneath, to keep the ship from moving, or drifting away. I was considering that our anchor doesn't take hold of the ground, here on earth, but it is holding on , inside the veil in the heavenly tabernacle.

    Hebrews 6:18c  who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

  19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

  20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

     So, we have fled to lay hold upon the hope, and the best hope we have is Jesus our hope, so it's like with the ship, we're holding on to one end of the line, and the other end of the line is fastened to the hope, which is up there, within the veil of the heavenly tabernacle, where Jesus has entered into. That line goes from down here where we are holding on to it, to up there in heaven, with Jesus no doubt holding the other end, so that we don't drift away, down here.
