The Apostle Paul Knew How Important the Day of Pentecost Was for the Church
Hello John and Doves,
Dear brothers and sisters, we have been teaching for some time that the day of Pentecost is the day when the Lord Jesus comes for his bride. The Apostle Paul knew something about this, because in the Scriptures we have a story from his life that I would like to reflect on now.
In the book of Acts we have it written that Paul was in an extreme hurry to arrive to Jerusalem on one particular day, the day of Pentecost. Acts 20:16 “For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not spend time in Asia: for he hastened, if it were possible, to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.” This situation occurred only once in his life, and that was on this feast day. It is clear from the Scriptures that he had a great desire to be in Jerusalem on this feast day, and his behavior on this occasion was completely out of his usual action. Paul had a strong heart for evangelism and church planting in the world of that time and he subordinated everything to it. Suddenly something changed and he began to behave differently, he did not want to stay anywhere in Asia, even though the disciples persuaded him to do so.
What was the reason for this change in Paul’s behavior? Up until a certain point, Paul believed that the rapture would also affect him. He knew that the rapture would be a worldwide event, because it mainly affects Gentile Christians. Since Paul was not yet a disciple of Jesus at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was poured out, he could not have participated in this event personally. However, it is very likely that he had a great desire to be in Jerusalem for the second event on the day of Pentecost (the rapture of the church) and participate in this event together with the apostles of the Lord Jesus. Only from the later letters that Paul wrote, it is clear that he finally understood that the rapture of the church would not happen in his lifetime.
I am adding links to important videos because the day of Pentecost is fast approaching and our much awaited event that we love so much, being at the wedding feast with the King of kings and Lord of lords, is already in sight. The end of July 2025 is so close.
