Supplementing the calculation of the day of Pentecost from Scripture
Hello John and Doves,
Dear brothers and sisters, in previous videos, much has been taught about how the day of Pentecost must be calculated from Scripture. I realized that it is necessary to supplement the previous teaching on the calculation of the day of Pentecost with one important piece of information, which we will now discuss. We know that the calculation of the day of Pentecost consists of two independent parts. I will not explain in detail here how the day of Pentecost is calculated. You can watch the previous videos, where everything is clearly and in detail explained.
The first part of the calculation is falls on the 15th of Sivan, which is a completely accurate calculation of the day according to Lev 23:15. There is no doubt about this, it is clearly determined in Scripture. In the second part of the calculation of the day of Pentecost, from this day, i.e. 15th of Sivan, fifty days must be counted according to Lev 23:16. That fiftieth day is then the actual day of the feast of Pentecost. However, there are two ways to calculate the fiftieth day. In previous videos, I did not realize this and calculated the day of Pentecost in only one way.
Now I will explain both options in detail, which I will also graphically illustrate in the pictures.
The first way of calculating is that at the beginning of the fifty-day count, the 15th of Sivan is already included as the first day, i.e., the 16th of Sivan is already the second day. With this method, the day of Pentecost falls on the fifth day of the fifth month, i.e., on the 5th of Av.
The second way of calculating is that at the beginning of the fifty-day count, the first day is the 16th of Sivan. I have done this in previous lessons, and with this method of calculating, the day of Pentecost falls on the sixth day of the fifth month, i.e., the 6th of Av.
It is not possible to determine from Scripture which of these two ways of counting is correct and which was used at the beginning of our era at the time of the Lord Jesus. We know that the disciples knew exactly when the fiftieth day of Pentecost was. Paul hurried to be in Jerusalem on that day of Pentecost, i.e., he knew the exact day.
What does this mean for us? Unless something changes that will clarify which of these two ways of counting is correct, we have no choice but to expect both days. We know that Scripture determines the day of Pentecost as the day of the rapture of the church. This is such a fundamental matter in the life of the waiting bride that it will be no problem to expect and prepare for these two days. 5th Av falls on our calendar from the evening of the 29th to the evening of the 30th of July, and 6th Av from the evening of the 30th to the evening of the 31st of July. To cover both possibilities, we will need to wait from the evening of the 29th to the evening of the 31st of July 2025.
Personally, the day of Pentecost on the 5th of Av seems more likely to me, because Jews nowadays use the first method of counting in various calculations of events. However, this is just my opinion and I will wait for both days. Except for this double possibility, the day of Pentecost according to Scripture is now precisely determined and the rapture of the church will occur on the 5th or 6th of Av, as taught in several previous videos.
I believe that this addition comes at exactly the time when it is relevant and when it is the right time to be sufficiently aware of these new facts and prepare for the time of the coming of the Lord Jesus for His church. Lord, I am very much looking forward to the end of this month of July 2025.
