On December 21st, 2020, a very close and rare conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn occurred. The media loudly trumpeted this as the "Star of Bethlehem" which confused me no end. Saturn has all sorts of evil connotations and myths attached to it. It's very name suggests a link with satan! It's also associated with the Christmas time of year which is when the Roman's practised their pagan worship of Saturnalia.

 

This year of 2025, on December 21st, it will have been 5 years since the 2020 conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. Astonishingly - December 21st, 2025 also marks 77 years, 7 months and 7 days since Israel became a nation again on May 14th, 1948. It obviously also marks 7 years, 7 months and 7 days since Israel's 70th birthday in 2018.

 

I did some research and came across this wonderful article on 5,000 years of Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions. I consider this short article a Must Read. I finally get why the media were so bent on naming the 2020 conjunction as the Bethlehem Star. Quoting loosely from parts of the article:-  " The 2020 conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn attracted a great deal of interest. Part of this interest was down to the minimum separation between the two planets being rather small (six arcminutes). Part was due to to the fact that the conjunction occurred only a few days before Christmas. However, the biggest single factor was possibly the parallel with the 7 BC triple conjunction that occurred around the time of the Nativity.  This event  is often linked with the Star of Bethlehem and the Nativity story. The 7 BC triple conjunction is one of the few  astronomical events for which we have surviving Babylonian records. This tablet is in the British museum - Tablet 35429.

As an aside - the 2020 conjunction also occurred 31 days prior to the fact that Joe Biden and the Dems were back in power in January 2021.
