With regard to your
comments about whether or
not the devil would find a way to deceive a person in the
hypothetical
situation you describe, I’m not sure, but do I know the devil
would try,
because he is a liar! But if that person was left without
instruction (except
for the scriptures and the Holy Spirit), by which to form a
doctrinal belief
system, I think an awakened conscience, abiding by lawful
conduct, plus an
enquiring mind about the Bible and the creation all around
them, would guide
them in the right direction.
However, there are verses
in Matt. 24:4–5
and 24–25, 27 (below), which warn us about believing other
peoples’ claims and
opinions that might deceive us, whether intentionally or not,
so we should be
careful to make sure that what they teach is in line with our
own
examination of the scriptures. There are a lot of
so-called believers out
there, who read other peoples’ books and go along with their
opinions about the
Bible, but who never study it for themselves; they are the
susceptible ones!
Take heed that no one deceives you. For many
will come in My name
saying, ‘I am the Christ’ and will deceive many.
For False Christs and false prophets will rise
and show great signs
and wonders to
deceive, if possible
even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.
For as the lightning comes from the east and
flashes to the west, so
also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
I’m sure our LORD would
endorse these rearranged
lines from Proverbs 4:20–26, and 19 and 18:
My
son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my
sayings.
Do
not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst
of your heart;
for
they are life to those who find them, and health to all
their flesh.
Keep
your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the
issues of life.
Put
away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far
from you.
Let
your eyes look straight ahead and your eyelids look right
before you.
Ponder
the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.
Do
not turn to the right or the left;
remove
your foot from evil.
The
way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what
makes them stumble.
But
the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines
ever brighter unto
the perfect day.
I’ve just listened to a
T.V. report by the
‘Sunday’ (Australian) programme, about AI and what it might
accomplish if it is
left unregulated by International Governments.AI is certainly a scary proposition for the future if
they apply it to
independent and robotic weapons; but, in spite of the grim
warnings given by
those who claim to understand it, I doubt if anyone will do
anything to prevent
it. There is too much wealth at stake for the Tech. giants to
cancel it!
Besides, the Genie is well and truly out of the bottle
