Received a texts today from
alertsusa.com: "DoD deploys forces to CENTCOM to
bolster maritime security." Due to Iran's increasing threat in
the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters.
"The U.S. is increasing military
assets in the Persian Gulf region after Iran tried to seize
two oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz in recent
weeks. Last week the U.S. announced the deployment of
F-16 fighters to the Gulf amid the increase in shipping
tensions."
"In response to
recent attempts by Iran to threaten the free flow of
commerce in the Strait of Hormuz and its surrounding
water, the Secretary of Defense has ordered the deployment
of a portion of the BATAAN Amphibious Readiness
Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit comprised of the USS
Bataan, USS Carter Hall and its associated personnel and
equipment into the USCENTCOM area of responsibility, in
addition to the recently approved forces comprising F-35s,
F-16s, and a guided missile destroyer, the USS Thomas
Hudner."
"Through these actions, the United
States is demonstrating commitment to ensuring freedom of
navigation and deterring Iranian destabilization activities
in the region. We will continue to work with
like-minded allies and partners who are committed to the
free flow of commerce to take appropriate, coordinated
actions against threats to this fundamental principle of the
rules-based international order."

Israel is noting with concern
Iran's increased presence north of Israel (Iran's proxies in
Lebanon and Syria) and Iran has been "very active in the
West Bank, creating what appears to be near hysteria amid
the Fatah leadership" and in Jordan "...where there is a
huge influx of Iranian activity. This coupled with the
weakness of the Jordanian leadership and the poor economic
situation in a country which still hosts hundreds of
thousands of Syrian refugees, is a recipe for chaos and
instability." And Iran has been "working extremely
hard to infiltrate the internal Israeli Arab society and
incite its Sunni youth with anti-Israeli sentiment and a
Shiite zeal for holy war."
"This should be an absolute
red flag for all countries in the region,
including the Abraham Accord countries, and of course, the
U.S and Europe, who seek regional stability for the sake of
commerce, technological development and trade."
