The Theology of Creation by: John MacArthur
Excellent is just not enough for this sermon. John ties scriptures together to give a fuller picture of the first two verses of the Bible, Genesis one and two.
Expanding in John’s rendition we find the first sentence composed of seven words or a seven-branch menorah lamp whose middle lamp, the servant lamp, is the Alev and Tav (GOD, Jesus) or the Alpha and Omega, or the beginning and the end.
Light is the energy and power of creation, and it is also seen at the beginning of Genesis.
John MacArthur is an excellent preacher and scholar; I had the privilege of hearing his half hour program at lunch time for more than twenty years and the knowledge and depth of scripture that he taught me during that time is well beyond what I have acquired from other sources. He has my eternal gratitude and recognition for having been a critical reason for my spiritual maturity and knowledge of scripture.
Man has thought through its existence as being a creator and points out the works of their hands, cars, airplanes, computers, phones, steel, medicines, and all the hundreds of things we see around us today as being created by him. He is wrong in this thinking; he is and alternator not a creator. All the objects found in today’s world have been done altering the materials or energy found in creation.
Years back I did a drawing showing the contrast between the true creation and God’s creation. In the drawing I show a pair of hands with dimensions and a prestressed bridge concrete beam from one of my past bridge designs.
The comparison is as follows. The bridge beam existed in my brain before I put it in paper. I gave it the shape, the reinforcing bars and the strength of the materials to be used and from these details a builder was able to build and use the beam and build a bridge with it.
The hands existed in God’s mind, He gave it dimensions and assigned materials and out of nothing He brought them into existence.
To God and He alone is the Glory, the Power and the Honor for everything that is.
