From my biblical prospective as per prophecy the next major event I believe that will happen and will shock the world is the complete destruction of Rome and the Vatican State by a massive volcanic event.

 

Presently there are several volcanic eruptions going on in Italy and also some strange earthquakes. Within the last week the Stromboli and Etna volcanoes have erupted and other volcanic sites around the area are in the restless / perking status and this includes the large Campi Flegrei volcanic complex that is adjacent to Rome.

 

From the prophecies of Zechariah it appears to me that the two end time witnesses will appear on the world stage after Rome has been destroyed. As per Zechariah 11 and Revelation 18 it appears that God will use this volcanic event to orchestrate the dismissal” of the 3 shepherds / 3 popes as is described in Zechariah 11.

 

As per Zechariah it appears that when this happens not only will Rome and the Vatican be destroyed but also the Roman Catholic Church (as we know it) as well. I say this because it is indicated that way in Zechariah 11. God says......”I will not feed you (the RCC). Let what is dying die and what is perishing perish.”

 

And then it says that the new pope / foolish shepherd / antichrist will not align himself with the RCC after Rome is destroyed but will align himself with a god of fortresses, a foreign god with great military powers who will act against the strongest world armies and defeat them. This will result in this evil team (the antichrist and the UFO / demonic entities) ruling over many and dividing the land for gain. Daniel 11:36-39 and Zechariah 11

 

When this event does happen the bible says it will be over in an interval of an hour's time.

 

I was viewing pictures this week of tourists standing by the sea in Italy viewing the eruption of the Stromboli volcano in the distance. I couldn't help but then reflect on what is said in Revelation 18 when they will be doing the same thing when Campi Flegrei erupts and destroys Rome and the Vatican in an hour's time.
