"Exposing Satan's Lies!"

Exposing
Satan's Lies!
                                                                   By Pastor F. M. Riley

"Satan.....is a liar, and the father of it," John 8:44.

"Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel," Philippians 1:15-17.

Introduction
SATAN IS A LIAR, and the father of lies.  No less an authority than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself said so.  The track record of Satan verifies and proves beyond a doubt that lies come forth from Satan.  For instance.......
Take a small child as an example, born to Bible believing Christian parents, brought up in a Christian home, and exposed to Bible study and prayer in his home every day.  Yet  when that little child is caught red handed in bad behavior, while playing with other children, that little child will deny his bad behavior, and will lie about it.  It is obvious that his Christian parents did not teach him to lie!  So who did?  Read Psalm 58:1-3.  Yes, Mom and Dad, that is how close SATAN is to your precious new born baby.  But that doesn't mean that Satan will be victorious over that child you love so much.  Just obey God's Word, and you will have the victory in your child's life.  Read Proverbs 22:6 and obey the Lord.  Glory to God!  Hallelujah!
Satan, being a spirit, indwelt the body of a serpent, and came into the Garden of Eden, Genesis 3:1; Rev. 12:9.  There Satan told Mother Eve the first lie recorded in God's Word, Genesis 3:1-4.  He is still repeating that same lie today, as he intices men and women to engage in Biblically forbidden sins.  Take heed!
Satan's Hatred for Mankind
That first lie was not just an attack upon the integrity of God, but it was also an attack upon mankind.  Satan is a spirit, and lives in the spirit world, and no doubt keeps up with what is happening in the spiritual realm. Therefore he apparently knew what God had planned for the future of mankind,  when God created Adam and Eve.
Satan wanted the earth for himself, but God's plan was that the earth should be given to mankind. Satan, then must have been seething with hatred for mankind, when he entered the Garden of Eden and deceived Mother Eve, destroying her innocence and bringing about the downfall of mankind, Romans 5:12.
It was the Lord Jesus Christ who said that Satan "was a murderer from the beginning," John 8:44.  When Satan suceeded in convincing Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit in disobedience to God, and she convinced Adam to eat of it, then all of mankind came under the sentence of DEATH, for "the wages of sin is death," Romans 6:23.   Satan knew that, even if some people living today still refuse to acknowledge it.
Human Philosophy
The Apostle Paul, in writing to the Lord's church at Philippi, made it clear to them that he was "set for the defence of the gospel.."  Every true believer should likewise be set for the defence of the Gospel, and of all the wonderful truths of God's Word.  .
But have our readers ever heard someone say, "Truth needs no defence!  If it is the truth, sooner or later, it will be revealed."    Here is an ignorant statement and an excuse for not standing up for the truths of God's Word.  Making such a statement  glaringly reveals one of the ways Satan has of deceiving mankind.
King Solomon, one of the wisest men who has ever lived upon the earth, was inspired of God to write, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:," Ecclesiastes 3:1.  Certainly there is "a time" when every truth set forth in God's inspired Word will ultimately come to pass, and therefore be revealed as absolute truth.  But we believers living today, are not yet living in that future "time." So for the "present time" in which we are living,  "the truth" of God's Word needs to be upheld and defended by God's people.  Is this just too hard for some readers to grasp?
The Lord's Warning
Over and over again in the four Gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the Lord told His followers to "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak," Matthew 26:41.  The Apostle Paul, speaking by Divine Inspiration, also told God's people to, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth," 2 Timothy 2:15.  In other words, even those who claim to be Christian believers can be deceived if they are not "watching" and "praying" and "studying"  in obedience to Christ and His Word.
The Glaring Evidence
Today, the churches and the ranks of Christianity are filled with every hare-brained theory and false teaching one can even imagine.  The Corinthian church is being repeated all over again in this present day in which we are living, 1 Corinthians 14:26.
Satan must love it, and must be rejoicing, for he has certainly  deceived millions of people living today.  What many today do not know or understand is that Satan is "prepping" mankind to believe another  great lie,  2 Thessalonians 2:7-11.
And how Christ Jesus must weep, knowing what is about to befall mankind on the earth, and so few are paying attention.
Apostate Christianity
On every side and hand today, we see God's Word being denied, explained away, and corrupted.  Only a small "remnant"
of those "professing" to be God's people today, are still seriously studying, upholding, and defending, the great truths of God's Word.   Satan knows that, even if some readers don't realize what is happening,  and Satan must love it!
You see, Satan hates the Word of God, for he knows that God, in His Word has already determined Satan's defeat and damnation.  So Satan is doing everything he knows to do, to turn the truth of God into a lie in the minds and hearts of mankind living today, Romans 1:24-25.  And what parts of God's Word does Satan hate the most?  Of course he hates all of God's Word, but he has special hatred for the creation account, for it glaringly reveals his wickedness against mankind.  He also has special hatred for the preaching of the Gospel, for it was the death and resurrection of Christ by which his defeat and doom was sealed.     And he certainly hates Bible prophecy, for it glaringly spells out his ultimate defeat and eternal damnation, Rev. 12:12.
Dear reader, Satan, having once been a trusted servant of God [Ezekiel 28:11-19],  KNOWS and BELIEVES God's Plan of the Ages, set forth in God's Word, even though Satan has been successful in blinding most of mankind living today to these truths.  Oh, how Satan does hate Bible prophecy!   And due to his hatred for it, he will do almost anything to discourage people from studying it, and preachers from preaching it.
This is why we see the churches and the ranks of Chritianity in the apostate mess they are in today, 2 Thess. 2:3.
End-Time Bible Prophecy
I was exposed to Bible prophecy as a young preacher, as I set under the teaching of some great preachers of God's Word; faithful "men of God."  Early I learned the general outline of end-time prophecy. When  I surrendered my life to the Lord's ministry, just a few years  after the Second World War, there were three major views of end-time Bible prophecy;  Pre-millennialism, Post-millennialism, and Ammillennialism.  But since that time all three of these positions on Bible prophecy have become riddled with every hare-brained theory one can imagine, until today many "professing Christians" have no idea where they even stand on the subject of Bible prophecy.
I would suggest to any reader who seriously wants to know the truth of Bible prophecy, that they obtain a good Bible Handbook, explaining what is generally taught by Pre-millenialists, Post-millenialists, and Ammillenialists.  Compare the three positions with what the inspired Scriptures actually and literally say, while praying for the guidance of God's Holy Spirit, John 16:13; 1 Corinthians 2:14. Then proceed with serious study of Bible prophecy for yourself.
The Challenge to Stand for Truth
From time to time, due to so much  false teaching today, controversies arise over Bible prophecies, some of which the truth of the prophecy, has long been established by previous generations of true Bible believers. Yet some "professing Christians" today have chosen to challenge these established truths, and "re-interpret" and rearrange them to "fit" what they want to believe.  This does cause controversy between those true believers who love God's Word, and who are set for "the defence of the truth," and those "religionists" who want to deny and change it.
Sadly, again and again over the past few years, I have heard "professing" Christians say, "Why, I would never argue over the Scriptures."  Is that so?  Is the reader one of them?  Then why don't you tear Jude 3 and 4 out of your Bible and throw it in the trash.  It is obvious that this explicit command in God's Word means nothing to you, and that you have neither the love of God, nor the courage to stand up and defend the truths of God's  Word.
The Latest Fabrication
In spite of a future seven year Tribulation having been taught by God's people throughout most of this present Dispensation of Grace, there are those in the churches and the ranks of Christianity today, who want to "re-interpret" the prophetic Word to make it teach only a three and a half year Tribulation (or less).
They do this by "re-interpreting" the prophecies of Daniel, especially Daniel 9:27.  According to this latest theory, the "covenant" spoken of in this passage IS NOT a peace agreement "confirmed" [or "strengthened"]  between the future anti-christ and the nation of Israel.
Rather, according to these Scripture corrupters, it is now claimed that the "covenant" is referring to the Abrahamic Covenant being "confirmed" by the Lord Jesus Christ.  Sic!  According to the theory, Christ then fulfilled half of the covenant by His own personal 3 1/2 year ministry, but was then crucified before He could finish it.  So, according to this hare-brained theory, the Lord Jesus will rapture His people just before this last 3 1/2 years begins. According to them,  these last 3 1/2 years are the entire future tribulation period, in which the Lord will punish, and then destroy His enemies, by His glorious return.  Sic!
The Truth of God's Word
As far as "human reasoning" goes, these religionists have pieced together a THEORY that sounds pretty good to those who never seriously study God's Word, or who never bother themselves to read it but only occasionally.  However, this new interpretation of Daniel 9:27 is so full of holes, it hardly holds the hot air of the religious "nut" who first thought it up.  Proof?  Gladly!
The Ministry of Christ
I am well aware that it is commonly believed and taught that the public ministry of Christ was 3 1/2 years in length.  There is not a word of truth to this, regardless of how many believe it, and how often it has been repeated.  And here is the proof.....
The Lord Jesus Christ began His public ministry on the Jewish holy day of Passover, John 2:13.  At the time He was thirty years of age, the age when a Jewish male could begin serving as a Rabbi, Luke 3:23.  So the Lord's ministry began on a Passover.
The Lord's public ministry ended three years later, when He was crucified by the Jewish priests on a Passover, Matthew 27:33-35; Mark 14:2; 15:6-15.
After being crucified, the body of the Lord was in the tomb for three days and three nights.  Then He arose, and ministered to His disciples for forty days, Acts 1:3.  Then He ascended back to His Father in Heaven, Acts 1:8-9.  .
So the public ministry of Christ was only a total of  three years.  It began on a Passover, and ended on a Passover.
Now if we were to add in the additional 3 days the Lord's body was in the tomb, and the 40 days He was seen of His disciples after His resurrection, that would only add 43 days to the time He was on earth.  So the Lord's ministry, even adding the 43 days,  would still have been only three years and 43 days.  It most certainly WAS NOT three and a half years.
DANIEL 9:27
Daniel 9:27 reads, "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even unto the commsumation, and that determined shall be poured out upon the desolate."
First, does the reader see any reference in this Scripture to the Abraham Covenant?  In fact, do our readers see any reference to Abraham in this entire Book of Daniel?  No?  Then this covenant most certainly IS NOT the Abrahamic Covenant, and  does not have a thing to do with the Abrahamic Covenant.  Then claiming that this covenant is the Abrahamic Covenant is a bald faced lie, and clearly false teaching.
Second,, this covenant is obviously a "covenant of peace"
[a peace agreement], agreed upon for seven years, by the nation of Israel and by the anti-christ.  However, the covenant is broken or violated in the midst of that week of years.
Any simpleton who can read, can see for themselves that the Abrahamic Covenant, when given by God to Abraham some 4,000 years ago,  was clearly stated to be an "everlasting covenant," Genesis 17:7-8.  There is nothing said in the Scriptures about the Abrahamic Covenant being made for only seven years,.  Likewise, there is nothing said in the Scriptures about it being broken or violated 3 1/2 years after it was made.
This covenant in Daniel 9:27 doesn't have a thing to do with the Abrahamic Covenant, which has been in existence for some 4,000 years.  1 Corinthians 2:14 is still true!
Third, the Hebrew word translated as "confirm" in this Scripture, literally means "strengthen," and should have been translated that way.  Now tell me, does the Abrahamic Covenant, made between God and Abraham nearly 2,000 years BEFORE the first coming of Christ need "strengthening?"  Pshaw!   Idiocy!
Fourth, don't fail to notice  that this covenant in Daniel 9:27 "shall" [future tense] be "strengthened" for "one week."  This  literally means for a week of years; seven years,  Now if this was referring to the Abrahamic Covenant, would it then mean that the "everlasting covenant" the Lord God made with Abraham is to expire in seven years?  Well..??  Some who claim to be knowledgeable about Bible prophecy come up with theories which are so ridiculous, they are downright silly.
Fifth, if the "he" in this Scripture who "strengthens" the covenant is referring to the Lord Jesus Christ, as some claim, does this then mean that Christ violates His Word, and that His Word cannot be trusted?  Well...?? If so, then maybe the "everlasting life" promised to all true believers is not "everlasting" at all?  How about that?   Well...??
The Word of the Lord Jesus to whom I have trusted my soul, is absolutely trustworthy.  He would never break any covenant He has made with mankind.  NEVER!
Sixth, can any reader tell me where in the personal ministry of Christ, the Lord made "the sacrifice and the oblation" of the Jewish people to cease?  History records that the Jewish priests were still offering the daily sacrifice and the oblation right up until the Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D.  Now someone is bald faced lying!  Was it Daniel, or was it the Lord? Or is it these false teachers who are teaching this asinine theory about Daniel 9:27?
Seventh, the word "he" occurs twice in this Scripture, and it is obvious that "he" is speaking of the same person in both places.  Is it then the Lord Jesus Christ who spreads "the abominations" all over the land of Israel during these seven years, causing the land to become desolate?  Absolutely not!  It is the anti-christ who sets up "the abomination of desolation," Rev. 13:14-15.  It is glaringly obvious in this passage in Rev. 13, that the "abomination" is an image of a false god set up by the anti-christ. Now see what God thinks of this in Deut. 7:25-26.
This "interpretation" of Daniel 9:27 by these false teachers makes Christ responsible for doing this?  Barf!   These dumb theorists are guilty of perverting the Word of God, and of blaspheming the Lord Jesus Christ in an attempt to make Daniel 9:27 "fit" their own dumb totally unscriptural theories.
Conclusion
Dear readers, either take God's Word at face value as literal truth, and "rightly divide" it, or take down your claim of being a true believer, and stop being a lying hypocrite.
It was the Lord Jesus Christ Himself,, who said, "Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit," Matthew 12:33.
By the grace of God, I have been enabled to expose another of Satan's lies.  Praise the Lord!   Read Matthew 7:15.  Plain enough?

A personal note to my readers:
Dear folks, for the past year I have been using a magnifying glass to see what I am typing on my computer screen.  On this study I changed to a larger font.  Perhaps the larger type will help some other reader with bad eyesight.  What I am saying is that I am gradually losing my eyesight.  I know that I am old, and losing my eyesight at my age is to be expected.  I also know our Lord is coming SOON, and I will have my eyesight completely restored when He comes.  But in the meantime, will our readers who do pray for me and this Bible study ministry, make the restoration of  my eyesight a matter of prayer?  I will appreciate it so much.  God bless you all.
