I studied with this group for nearly a year. What an insidious organisation they are. They prey on people who have very little scriptural knowledge and are easily taken in. As was I - until I got down on my knees and prayed to be shown the truth. I must add that Almighty God drew me to Him through this experience. In many, many ways, Almighty God drew me to Himself through trials and personal tribulations. I had to be brought down to my most basic level, in order to finally perceive the truth of God. We have to be humbled and lose our ego. Our ego's are own worst enemy. We tend to think we know better and our hearts want what our hearts want. The fact that some of us need to be battered into shape - spiritually speaking -is a point of much regret for me. I wish I had seen the simple way forward beforehand! It would have saved me many tears and much heartbreak. It was like Almighty God was saying, "You asked for the truth - here it is". The fact that it took me longer to perceive the purity of that truth - of how much I had to change - is a small testament to the profundity of God's words. Scripture tells us how difficult (yet simple) it is. For the path is narrow and the gate is narrow.
Now, during prayer, I picture God as this never ending ocean of purity. His Spirit form. It allows for no spot or blemish. It is PURE love and beauty...devoid of any evil. Oh how I GROAN to reach that ocean of never ending purity and love. For Almighty God to show Himself to me, in ALL His glory. I can only imagine how my soul will leap and bound. Free from all worry - free from all evil - FREE!
The first link holds the scriptures that advise us to be thankful for our trials and tribulations. For it is by these that we are drawn to Almighty God. It is a profound truth. Think of King David. In the case of Job - Almighty God knew his heart. He allowed Job's trials to show evidence of how a true man of God behaves when subjected to harsh trials. The whole ghastly episode holds lessons for all of us. No amount of pain, torture or trial can separate us from God. The devil is still trying to dispute that!
The 2nd link is from an ex JW. It is a great and revealing video clip. For an outsider, it's so very easy to see how the Watchtower society works. They have millions of volunteers (slave labour) to build their empire. They are wealthy, wealthy, wealthy. Much like Scientology - they have amassed fortunes off the backs of gullible human beings. Well meaning and sincere people who believe they can score points and work their way to heaven. It's a tragedy. We must pray for them.
Always remembering that Almighty God never gives us more than we can bear. We will always be able to withstand our trials. Knowing they are allowed for a purpose.
