"God is not Amused!"

The Celebration of Evil.....
God is not Amused!
                                                                                               By Pastor F. M. Riley
                                                                                               June 24, 2018
"Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded,
But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed."
                                                                                                     Luke 17:28-30

"Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil,"
                                                                                                       Ecclesiastes 8:11.
Introduction
I have mentioned repeatedly in previous Bible Studies about a repetition of "the days of Noah. Mankind on the earth has been living in that repetition for the past 600 years.  It was 600 years from the birth of Noah until the flood began, Genesis 7:11.
I find it interesting that it was 600 years ago that Christopher Columbus began his voyage, and discovered what ultimately became the nation of America.  Just "coincidence?"  I hardly think so!  The Lord God has graciously given the people of America 600 years to "get it right," by not repeating the wickedness of mankind prior to the flood.  As a nation and a people, have we succeeded?  Absolutely not!  If anything, we have gone deeper into sin and rebellion against the Lord, than mankind did before the flood.  And Almighty God never overlooks sin!
The Days of Lot
Immediately after giving the prophecy about a repetition of "the days of Noah" in Luke 17:26-27, the Lord Jesus then proceeded to predict a repetition of "the days of Lot," Luke 17:28-30.
Now if our readers want an indepth description of the pre-dominant sin which was taking place in "the days of Lot," turn in your Bible and carefully read Genesis 18 and 19.  And after you have read those two chapters in God's Word, I would suggest that you also read Leviticus chapters 18 and 20.
God's Longsuffering
The Lord God is gracious and merciful and longsuffering with mankind, ".....not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance," 2 Peter 3:9.  This truth is well illustrated by the Lord giving mankind prior to the flood repeated warnings.  But it is also illustrated by the Lord God giving "the men of Sodom" every opportunity to repent before fire and brimstone were rained down upon them.
The Lord God, just as our text Scripture says, never speedily rushes to judgment, for He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, Ezekiel  18:23; Lamentations 3:32-33.  The Lord God gives mankind every opportunity to turn from their evil ways and be saved, before He brings judgment upon those who reject and refuse His mercies.
The Evening News
How many of our readers were aware that this very weekend was selected by their leaders to celebrate the "Gay Pride" movement?  There it was on the evening TV news.  In depth coverage.  Hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of people in St. Louis, Missouri and San Francisco, California, and I suppose in other cities over this country, marching and celebrating their "Gay Pride" movement. It happened today, Sunday, June 24th, a day that should be consecrated to the worship of the Lord.  But it wasn't!  Instead the leaders of "Gay Pride" were basically, thumbing their noses in the face of Almighy God.  On national television I watched men holding hands like lovers,  kissing, hugging, and fondling each other.  Likewise, there were lesbian women doing the same. As a true Christian believer, what I saw made me sick.  I felt like barfing!  If this crowd was truthful, they would call it "Gay Shame."
But some reader may say, "But it was "legal."    Yes, "Gay marriage" was "legalized" by the U.S. Supreme Court, so now any American citizen can wallow in what God's Word explicitly labels a wicked "abomination" to the Lord.  Because men in positions of political power "legalize" a thing, does not make it morally correct, or acceptable before God.
The fact that those promoting "Gay Rights" have now even organized "Gay churches," and call themselves "Christians" doesn't mean a thing.  The inspired Word is very plain in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that those who are "effeminate" or "abusers of themselves with mankind" will not "inherit the kingdom of God."  Setting up their own "Gay Pride" churches and professing themselves to be "Christians," will not buy them a drop of water in hell.
And these "Gay Pride" celebrations are what went on today, Sunday, June 24th, here in America.  And yet even some "Christian" believers, think that America will never be destroyed or cease to be a nation, because this country has helped the nation of Israel, and sent missionaries to other countries.  Sic!   Jude 5-8 is still in the Bible.  Just because judgment against an evil work is not executed speedily, does not mean that God has overlooked it, or approves of it.  Since the Lord God ".....is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever,"  Hebrews 13:8, every reader should believe that those involved in "Gay Pride" are going to experience the righteous and well deserved judgment of Almighty God, likely in the same manner that Sodom and Gomorrah experienced it.   Read Revelation 6:12-17,  8:7-13, and 9:1-11.
No prophecy set forth in God's Word has ever yet failed to come to pass, 2 Peter 1:19-21.  These prophecies will be fulfilled too!
But is There No Hope for These People?
Of course there is!  Homosexuality is not new to mankind. Almost from the beginning of human history there were those "effeminate" people who engaged in it.  This is why the Lord specifically dealt with the subject in Leviticus 18 and 20.  And this is why the Apostle Paul explicitly mentioned that some members of the Corinthian church had once been what is today called "Gays."  However, Paul made it clear that they had repented of their wickedness,  "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God," 1 Corinthians 6:11.  In plain English, those in the Corinthian church who had once engaged in the "Gay" lifestyle did not continue  to engage in it.  They repented before God of such wickedness, and turned their lives and bodies over to Christ Jesus, Romans 12:1.
Those who are "Gays" today, can do the same, or they can continue in their present lifestyle and spend eternity in "the lake of fire," Revelation 20:15.  The choice is before them!  I suggest they choose carefully.
Conclusion
Just because "sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily," does not mean that it is overlooked by the Lord God.  Sin will be judged; all sin, at the Lord's appointed time.  I would hate to be one who some day looks up in the flames of Hell, and remembers that they turned their backs on eternal life with the Lord God and His people in Heaven, in order, for a short time, to engage in Scripturally forbidden lusts,   Luke 16:25.
