Isaiah 66:6 The 666 verse ?
Dear Doves,
For the last several years, I have contemplated the designaation of verses in the bible, with the numbers 666. For example, chapter 6, verse 66, or perhaps chapter 66, verse 6. There are a few, but one that really stood out to me, was Isaiah 66:6.
What does this cryptic verse mean? " a voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord, that rendereth recompence to his enemies".
To understand this verse, I think we must take a look at the chapter as a whole. Chapter 66 begins with what seems to me like a serious heart to heart talk with the Lord God.
As many know, the bible contains 66 books, 39 in the Old testament, and 27 in the New. Isaiah is often refered to as the little bible. If we take this a little further , it is easy to say then, that the last chapter of Isaiah , corresponds to the last book in the New Testament, Revelations.
From this starting point, let us look at the first 6 verses,
1. Thus saith the Lord, the heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house that ye build unto me, and where is the place of my rest.
Let us suppose,that the Lord is looking down on the rebuilt 3rd Temple, almost in total contempt. Man's feeble, misguided attempt to reconstruct something that God allowed to be destroyed almost 2000 years ago, this new and modern temple in Jerusalem. Remember that verse 2 of Matthew 24 gives a stark reminder of what would become of the Temple of Jesus' day.
2. For all these things hath mine hand made and all these things have been saith the Lord, but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor, and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
Again , God is saying clearly, that We are His temple. this unauthorized edifice, is of no significance to Him. "to this man will I look, even to him that is poor, and of a contrite spirit, and that trembleth at my word."
3. He that killeth an ox, is as if he slew a man, he that sacrificeth a lamb, is as if he cut off a dog's neck, he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swines blood, he that burneth incence, as if he blessed an idol. Yea they have chosen their own way, and their soul delighteth in their own abomintions.
This modern unsanctioned worship in this unsanctified temple, with it's restored priesthood, is beyond abhorrent. It is a stench in His nostrils! He does not endorrse, condone, or acknowledge this modern temple in any way shape or form!
4.I also will choose their dilusions and bring their fears upon them. For when I called, none did answer, when I spake, they did not hear. But they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
The Lord has had enough, he is fed up, He's done with this nonsense! They wouldn't listen, they wouldn't hear, they insisted on having things their own way, and now He is going to give them just what they have been begging for! But first a word to His faithful remnant.
5. Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at His word, your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my names sake, said "let the Lord be glorified"; but He shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed
When I contemplate the gravity of this verse, it boggles my mind! HE SHALL APPEAR TO YOUR JOY! Do you realize that this is a Rapture verse? SAINTS ! .....TO YOUR JOY!!!
And now the crux of this entire passage, verse 6, or rather verse 666
My fellow watchers , I submit to you, that this verse describes a much heralded event, first mentioned in the book of Daniel, and reemphasized by Jesus Himself, in Matthew 24. The day the Anti Christ stands in Jerusalem { the Holy Place }
6.A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord, that rendereth reccompence to His enemies
How plain can it be? At the same time, how contemptible? Noise? This Anti -Christ is standing in a place that he should not be, with all his pride and arrogance, and exalting himself before the whole world ! He has set up his headquarters in the holy city and now his pitiful voice is raised to all the world, a mere Noise! a voice from this unauthorized temple, an eyesore in the Holy Place. It brings a staggering responce, A VOICE OF THE LORD THAT RENDERETH RECCOMPENCE TO HIS ENEMIES ! Verse 666 indeed !
Let us take a moment to review Jesus' warning to this Last Days people when this event takes place.... RUN !!! Put some space between you and this imposter, and do it quick. Don't think, don't hesitate, get outta Dodge, and do it NOW!!! RUN !!! Matthew 24:15-22, Daniel 9
I would love to go on and expound on the rest of this chapter, but suffice it to say, that I believe it is a remarkable condensed version of the book of Revelations. I am sure that if you take the viewpoint that I have submitted here, you will see this chapter in a different light perhaps than you have ever seen before.
