Sin of Judging othersMatthew chapter 7 verse 1-2 says:
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
As brothers and sisters in Christ we need to stop concentrating on other peoples sins and faults and start focusing on our own. When people begin to start judging others and focusing on another persons sins they fail to see their own sinful state and fall into the sin of self righteousness without even realising.
Just because you don't commit a sin someone else does or struggles with. That does not make you any less of a sinner then that person nor does that give you the right to pass harsh judgement. As Christians a lot of us tend to have this idea that just because I don't commit that particular sin that the other Christian commits that makes me a better Christian in better eyes of God.
We cannot judge ourselves on the basis of sins that we do not commit because we are all wretched sinners and all "fall short of the glory of God". On the day of judgement Jesus Christ will have mercy on those who showed mercy but will be harsher on those who judged with great measure and without mercy
If someone is in sin there is nothing wrong with letting them know what their doing is wrong and that they need to stop as long as you do it in love.
What is wrong is when you judge someone else to make yourself feel better or to give yourself some sort of moral high ground.
So before we start picking on others What we should be doing is We should be looking for any hidden sin that maybe in our own lives and confessing it before God so that he can forgive us and so that he restore fellowship our fellowship with him. That way then Gods additional blessings can start to come through in your life.
1 John 9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness".
So instead of calling out others on their sins let us help one another in love and focus on getting rid of our own sins in our lives and focus on our own relationship with God.
