When Yeshua said,
"If a son shall ask bread of his father,
would he give him a stone?" (Luke 11:11),He was thinking in Hebrew. How so?
- When "חלה" is pronounced "Chillah", it means to ask. When it is pronounced "Challah", it refers to a certain type of bread.
- There are many places in Scripture where a stone (אבן) is used to symbolize what passes from father (אב) to son (בן). The above is one, but there are other places I demonstrate this in the below video.
When Yeshua said, "Out of these stones, God can raise up sons of Abraham" (Mt 3:9), His Hebrew speaking audience probably caught that He was implying something about hypocrasy that the English reader would miss. What got lost in translation? Find out in the video below.
