"RE:  Halhoul, near Hebron"

Hello, John and Doves,

Consider this progression of thought:

Halhoul>>>>>alāl (Arabic: حلال alāl, 'permissible')>>>>>

Kosher foods are those that conform to the regulations of kashrut (Jewish dietary law). Food that may be consumed according to halakha (Jewish law) is termed kosher in English, from the Ashkenazi pronunciation of the Hebrew term kashér (כָּשֵׁר), meaning "fit" (in this context, fit for consumption).

>>>>>>>>>>>>kosher>>>>>>fit for sacrifice.

It is written,

         Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All

1The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. 2If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.

3But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. 4For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5That is why, when Christa came into the world, he said to God,

“You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings.

But you have given me a body to offer.

6You were not pleased with burnt offerings

or other offerings for sin.

7Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God—

as is written about me in the Scriptures.’”b

8First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses). 9Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. 10For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

Hebrews 10:1-10  NLT

Thus is it written,

         God’s Mercy Is for Everyone

25I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters,g

so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ. 26And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say,

“The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem,h

and he will turn Israeli away from ungodliness.

27And this is my covenant with them,

that I will take away their sins.”j

28Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of the Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they are still the people he loves because he chose their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 29For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn. 30Once, you Gentiles were rebels against God, but when the people of Israel rebelled against him, God was merciful to you instead. 31Now they are the rebels, and God’s mercy has come to you so that they, too, will sharek in God’s mercy. 32For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone.

Romans 11:25-32  NLT

Again, it is written,

         A Living Sacrifice to God

1And so, dear brothers and sisters,a I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.b 2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Romans 12:1-2  NLT

Finally, we read:

14Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. 15Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. 16Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

17Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.

19Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,

“I will take revenge;

I will pay them back,”g

says the Lord.

20Instead,

“If your enemies are hungry, feed them.

If they are thirsty, give them something to drink.

In doing this, you will heap

burning coals of shame on their heads.”h

21Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

Romans 12:14-21  NLT

~Blessings,

Mike

Watch: Israel Unites to Grieve, Remember Murdered Teens

Spontaneous prayer vigils throughout the country as Israelis react with shock and grief to the murder of three teenagers.

Israelis throughout the country are united in grief following the news that the bodies of Israeli teenagers Eyal Yifrah (19), Gilad Sha'ar (16) and Naftali Frenkel (16) were discovered in a shallow grave close to the village of Halhoul, near Hevron.

Weekly Torah Portion: Balak

"How goodly are your tents, O Yaakov, your dwelling places, O Israel!" (Numbers 24:5) Bilaam sought to strike Israel at the root of her strength. He sought to utter a curse on the family structure of Israel, the very basis of Jewish life, the source of love and unity that Israel possesses one for another both within the family and throughout the nation, the micro-paradigm of a nation in whose midst dwells HaShem. Instead, these words of praise and blessing emerged from his lips. Three weeks ago, Israel's implacable enemies kidnapped three teenage boys in a cruel and despicable attempt to strike terror into the heart of every mother, father and child in Israel, to bleed and to maim the very source of Israel's strength - the family. This is indeed what the inhuman perpetrators of the crime in the name of Allah intended. But the nation of Israel united and embraced the three wounded families, and like red blood cells streaming to an open wound, drove out the poison, stemmed the bleeding and began the process of healing the wound: "How goodly are your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel!"
