Watch: Israel Unites to Grieve, Remember Murdered Teens

Spontaneous prayer vigils throughout the country as Israelis react with shock and grief to the murder of three teenagers.

Israelis throughout the country are united in grief following the news that the bodies of Israeli teenagers Eyal Yifrah (19), Gilad Sha'ar (16) and Naftali Frenkel (16) were discovered in a shallow grave close to the village of Halhoul, near Hevron.

Weekly Torah Portion: Balak

"How goodly are your tents, O Yaakov, your dwelling places, O Israel!" (Numbers 24:5) Bilaam sought to strike Israel at the root of her strength. He sought to utter a curse on the family structure of Israel, the very basis of Jewish life, the source of love and unity that Israel possesses one for another both within the family and throughout the nation, the micro-paradigm of a nation in whose midst dwells HaShem. Instead, these words of praise and blessing emerged from his lips. Three weeks ago, Israel's implacable enemies kidnapped three teenage boys in a cruel and despicable attempt to strike terror into the heart of every mother, father and child in Israel, to bleed and to maim the very source of Israel's strength - the family. This is indeed what the inhuman perpetrators of the crime in the name of Allah intended. But the nation of Israel united and embraced the three wounded families, and like red blood cells streaming to an open wound, drove out the poison, stemmed the bleeding and began the process of healing the wound: "How goodly are your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel!"
