I think you both have points that are legitimate
SDA may or may not be a cult, but it certainly is cultish
 
According to their prophet Helen White, the true church worships on the Sabbath, Saturday, the occult infected church worships on Sunday

That is not scriptural, that is another personal revelation of hers that does not line up with scripture
 
And as far as them not eating meat, I do recall Jesus eating fish with his disciples.
