WE NEED NATIONAL REPENTANCE
The flood from our spiritual enemy is now pouring in and breaching the walls of the GOD’s beloved people. We see this flood coming in many shapes and sizes….in many areas and in many ways. HIS people sense the danger, but do not know that they themselves are close to being ‘swept away.’
Are we just mere puppets, ‘sitting ducks’ waiting for destruction to come? IS there no hope left in the land?
Yes, my dear ones, there is hope, but it begins with us. It begins with prayer intercession. It begins with prayers of repentance for our home, country and land. It begins with NATIONAL REPENTANCE!!!! This is our ONLY HOPE……and it has always been our ONLY HOPE……but we have forgotten.
We have forgotten how to pray.
We have forgotten how to feel sorrow for our wrong doings.
We have forgotten how to be humble and have humility.
We have forgotten that we are RESPONSIBLE for our national sins.
We have forgotten that sins bring judgment, but confession brings healing….…..
AND, most importantly, we have forgotten that we have the ONLY ANSWER to what is plaguing our lives and country….
REPENTANCE AND PRAYER
Should we just continue in our ways and just watch the consequences fall?? OR should we seek HIS ways of prayer, confession, and repentance? We must not waste another moment as our spiritual enemy advances his forces.
Our families lives depend on our prayers. Our country depends on our repentance.
We are not helpless and we are not alone. That is what this spiritual enemy wants us to think. He is a liar and a deceiver over and over again. He brings hopelessness , discouragement and despair. He wants you to give up and do nothing.
DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM!
There is something that everyone of us can do……PRAY!!!! This is our mighty weapon and we must use it! We must not ‘roll over’ and just ignore this flood that is pouring in.
Will you stand with me in the gap of this breached wall ? How? Through prayer!
“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land that I should not destroy it…” Ezekiel 22:30 –Dear FATHER GOD ALMIGHTY,
We come before you, humbling ourselves before YOU in unreserved obedience. We know that the hour is late, but we pray that in YOUR infinite mercy, YOU would forgive us our sins as we forgive others. We ask that YOU would have mercy on our nation as we cry out to YOU in national repentance. Our hearts are sadden by the evilness that has penetrated our land under our watch. Forgive us for turning the other way …..OUR way and not yours. Help us now to follow YOUR ways alone.
LORD, YOU said that if YOUR people confess our sins and turn from our wicked ways, You would hear from heaven and heal the land. This is now our heart-felt cry to YOU. Hear our prayers and fogive us, dear FATHER! Turn YOUR eyes back on us, YOUR children! Come near to us dear LORD, as we come near to YOU!
In JESUS’s name we pray, AMEN
HERE is the prayer that Daniel prayed for national repentance. Please note that Daniel fasted while praying and he humbled himself with sackcloth and ashes. This was to show his sorrow and sadness for his nations rebellion. We too, can humble ourselves through fasting.
DANIEL’s NATIONAL PRAYER:
“O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, 5 we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. 6 Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land. 7 O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day—to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You.
8 “O Lord, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You. 9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him. 10 We have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets. 11 Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, and has departed so as not to obey Your voice; therefore the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against Him. 12 And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great disaster; for under the whole heaven such has never been done as what has been done to Jerusalem.
13 “As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth. 14 Therefore the Lord has kept the disaster in mind, and brought it upon us; for the Lord our God is righteous in all the works which He does, though we have not obeyed His voice. 15 And now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and made Yourself a name, as it is this day—we have sinned, we have done wickedly!
16 “O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those around us. 17 Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and for the Lord’s sake cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is desolate. 18 O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies. 19 O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”
Daniel 9
