The common Sinners Prayer is a man-made construct that does nothing to prepare a person for living the Christian life.
It provides a false sense of security and is the reason so many continue to live wicked lives AFTER the prayer is said.
To become a true Christian a person MUST Acknowledge and confess that Jesus Christ is the ONLY
God of Heaven and Earth.

Also because He IS the Everlasting Father in human form, He MUST be addressed directly.

A good Prayer for salvation should be something like this:

"Lord Jesus I acknowledge you as my Lord and God.

I believe you have the power to save me from a life of sin.

I repent from living a wicked and evil life.

Help me to live a life that glorifies you.

Fill me with love for all the people in my life and help me to do good things to them always.

I thank you for your Holy Spirit now dwelling in me.

Help me to read your Word every day in order to learn how to live a life that pleases you.
