"Our only hope..."

In response to this wonderful message: (Shan Cosner 18 July 2013, Home of the Five Doves)

"The world we knew was barely functional...but now "it" is deteriorating at speed."
"It is July 17th. 2013 at 1:30 pm pdt.  I am just now going through today's news, in detail...something I do everyday for 18 mos. now, and noticed something...

The increased frequency and magnitude of deadly serious happenings just in the social/political realm is stark. I do not exaggerate for sake of "sensation" when I say the old adage "the world IS falling apart" and few notice. Even without adding the threats of pole shift and EQ's and freakish weather...I mean just the political/economic realm worldwide is beginning to implode now! Conditions have been creeping toward the precipice for some time...but in the last 14 days have been pushed over the edge...the point of no return...the law of gravity in free fall. The RAPTURE must occur soon!! I believe at the moment of impact. I can see the bottom from here. ...the end is in sight...

Standfast bretheren! We REALLY ARE going home any moment now!! "

Our Only Hope

I can only say, "Amen and Amen" to your words, dear Shan.  I was just discussing the same with a sister in the Lord yesterday.

Hardly do we seem to go from one perilous situation than we are faced with another...worldwide.  And it can only increase, as the Word tells us that in these last days things would wax "worse and worse".  And why is this?

We who follow the Lord should already know that answer.

God does not want us anxious and disturbed in our spirit. And there is but one way for us to be at peace in such times.  We can read about the young Uzziah, king of Judah, only 16 years of age at the time.  But fortunately, he had parents that knew the Lord and were living in righteousness.  He determined to follow God in the same way, and purposed to learn from God's prophets the ways of the Lord.  "Casting all our care upon Him...(1 Peter 5:7)

The Bible says that "As long as He sought the Lord, the Lord made him to prosper".And so we read how he DID prosper and was king for decades, leading his people into truly prosperous times.  Only when pride got into the picture did things deteriorate and eventually,  when he forgot to seek God and His ways, he was stricken with leprosy and died.

A godly man forgot...

But we must not forget.  For it tells us that our prospering in such troublesome times as we are now experiencing will depend on whether or not we are seeking God for answers to our problems, directions for the days ahead, His strength and help in times of need.

Our nation is stricken with spiritual leprosy...but our obedience to that Word will take us though it all.
