Hi:
Rev 5:8-10 says, "And when he had taken the book, the four
beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb,
having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours,
which are the prayers of saints. 9 And they sung a new
song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the
seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God
by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and
nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and
priests: and we shall reign on (epi, on or over) the earth."
I think "they" in verse 9 refers back to "saints" who are out of
every nation. The elders are all Israelites, 12 patriarchs
and 12 apostles.
In the second Rapture, 144,000 more Israelites get to sing the
new song.
Of what advantage is it to be able to sing the new song?
Psa 149:1-9 says, "Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a NEW
SONG, and his praise in the congregation of saints. 2 Let
Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be
joyful in their King. 3 Let them praise his name in the
dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will
beautify the meek with salvation. 5 Let the saints be
joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. 6
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged
sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the
heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their
kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour
have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD."
Verse 9 in the HNV says, "To execute on them the written
judgment. All his HOLY ONES have this honor. Praise the LORD!"
R.B. Thieme used to say to work now and rest in heaven.
Psa 149 sounds like we will be resting.

"To DP - reference your post 'AND THEY SANG A NEW SONG""
Notice the differences between Rev. 5:9 and Rev. 14:3
In Rev. 5:9, they sang a new song. The "they" are the four
beast and 24 elders who are singing a new song.
In Rev. 14:3, they sang as it were a new song, which
implies it was not a new song but only a new song to them.
Also, no one could learn that song except for the 144,000 and
they were singing it to the 4 beast and 24 elders.
