"66% of Israelis don't necessary want 2 states"

Yesterday someone posted that when presented with a choice between pre 1967 borders, and a 2 state solution, 66% of Israelis chose a 2 state solution.  That does not necessarily mean that 66% of Israelis think a 2 state solution is the best of all possible options, only the better of those two evils.  Quite often, polsters can create propoganda by narrowly wording a question so as the suggest a desired outcome, and one must be careful to examine WHO is doing the polling and how it was conducted to identify a bias.

Given that narrow of a choice, I'm surprised 1 out of 3 would coonsider pre- 1967 borders really, because Israel could find itself unable to defend itself against an attack given teh advancements in military capabilities since 1967 and the need for existing borders.  Yes, it would be easier to police the in-Israel Palestinians than keep out other Arab states under pre-67 borders.  It would mean Palestianians wouldn't vote in Knesset anymore.  But that does not mean that a two state solution is better than the present condition.  And when the present condition is removed from a choice, then the outcome of the poll between 2 bad solutions is nothing more than a propoganda tool, and not representative of what Israelis are necessarily thinking.

There's a GREAT video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2hZ6SlSqq0 as to why the present borders provide a lot of geographical protection for Israel from invading countries and why going back to pre-1967 borders would mean giving that up - which is not a sensible option at all.
