"ANSWER TO NAVI"
I ask for forgiveness if I caused you (Navi) to take offense.
I guess being a messianic Jew and knowing so many others, we
sometimes take shots within the family so to speak. I meant no
disrespect.
Jews end up in church because we have come to know and love our
Messiah- JESUS. This does not mean that I think messianic
Jews are not saved, and no, I have not been to every
congregation all over the planet but I have Jewish believing
friends all over the planet who say much the same thing.
So many of us have tried to remain within a Jewish congregation
but find the repeating pattern of being drawn back to the
bondage of the law and out from under the covering of grace is
an easily besetting sin within our ranks and it all boils down
to pride.. Because of this, many of us feel safer in churches-
and that is saying a huge amount considering so many churches
today are still anti-Israel and anti- Zionist and we have had to
get over the fear of seeing Gentiles as little Hitlers (Some of
us still can't speak about Germany, Volkswagens, etc. and we
need to get over ourselves.) .Legalism is also a huge draw to
many Gentiles who feel that they need to be Jewish to be just a
little bit more saved! That is nonsense!!!
We are often placed in predominantly Gentile settings and God
uses us to educate the non-Jews about the future of Israel's
restoration. Which is a given. Right now I am
dealing with the issue of legalism within the congregation where
I go to when it comes to messianic legalism from a guest speaker
that has visited.
It brings in division and confusion and we had a church split
years ago over this when many Gentiles wanted to be under the
law and wear tallit and find their "Jewish roots"- it was never
enough that the Lord does not see his church in terms of ethnic
identity- only people do.
I LOVE messianic worship and Paul Wilbur and Lamb have been long
time favorites so I was not putting down messianic worship and I
don't know how you got that from what was said..
What I take issue with is false teaching and bad doctrine that
makes people think they can please God with their works once
they are saved. We Jews seem to fall for this type of stuff over
and over! Jim Bramlett said a simple truth that I agreed
with- and if it were not for His grace- where would any of us
be?
