"[Revelation2217] Dimensions of Beelzebub..."

Something interesting I have found in the name Beelzebub

He is called the “Lord of the Flies”.  I used to picture some sort of “Fly Lord” something similar to a “Queen Bee”.   Actually, that is not the case, because flies don’t have any organized army as such.  The “Lord of the Flies” is the “dung pile” that the flies worship.

Gehenna” in Christ’s day was the area outside of Jerusalem that would have been the sewer dump.   So the picture that Christ was using to describe “hell” is the place where the “waste” is gathered.   If you understand that picture, you should be able to see it here:

2Kgs 9:37

And the carcaseH5038 of Jezebel shall be as dungH1828 upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; [so] that they shall not say, This [is] Jezebel.

I find this interesting… there is another word in Hebrew that is also used of a carcase.

Hebrew Strong’s # 4658 = Carcase

Greek Strong’s # 4657 = Dung

BCV (Book Chapter Verse) # 5038   (CARASE)

Phil 3:8

Yea doubtless, and I count all things [but] loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them [but] dung,G4657 that I may win Christ,

Notice the connection to the IDOL.

Hebrew Strong’s # 4656 = Idol

Hebrew Strong’s # 6456 = Graven Image

Jer 50:38

A drought [is] upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it [is] the land of graven images,H6456 and they are mad upon [their] idols.

Do you notice the 5038 in the verse reference?  It points to:

Hebrew Strong’s # 5038 = Carcase

In the Old Testament, God refers to Baal-zebub as the “god of Ekron”.

2Kgs 1:3

But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, [Is it] not because [there is] not a God in Israel, [that] ye go to enquire of Baal–zebubH1176 the godH430 of Ekron?H6138

the godH430 of Ekron?H6138 = 430 + 6138 = 6568

Notice the number right next to it…

Hebrew Strong’s # 6569 = Dung  (Heb:  Peresh)

Notice that the word in Hebrew sounds like the English word “Perish”, and hence the strong connection in:

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,G622 but have everlasting life.

Perhaps the “trespass offering” from the Philistines was an acknowledgment of their judgment against their dung lord.

1Sam 6:17

And these [are] the golden emerods which the Philistines returned [for] a trespass offering unto the LORD; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Askelon one, for Gath one, for EkronH6138 one;

Notice the pairing in the Strong’s Dictionary…

|<-- 954 Entries -->|<-- 4670 Entries -->|

|<----- Strong’s Greek Dictionary ------>|

Greek Strong’s # 954 = Beelzebub

Greek Strong’s # 4670 = Sodom

Look at the first place that Hebrew Strong’s # 4670 is found.

BCV (Book Chapter Verse) # 954   (Beelzebub)

1Sam 5:4

And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon [was] fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands [were] cut off upon the thresholdH4670; only [the stump of] Dagon was left to him.

Look at all the dimensions!  AMAZING!
