I guess I did not read the whole article. I did not realize he had filed as a non-profit tax exempt status. Once a church files for that they are then “owned” by the government. I once had a pastor tell me there were certain things he could not say because the church would lose their “tax exempt” status. I do not think a church or pastor should be concerned about tax exempt status. You cannot serve 2 masters.

Anyway after reading the entire article it looks like this pastor was looking for a way to get publicity. What ashame to bring “negative” attention to the Body of Christ unnecessarily.
