"RE: Guessing the identify of the anti-Christ"

Hello, John and Doves,

Here's another troubling thought, unless you keep in mind that God is absolutely sovereign.

Jesus said in prayer to the Father,
"While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled."
John 17:12  NIV

Another verse:
"What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction?"
Romans 9:22  NIV

What God said through Rabbi Shaul is evident.

"33Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

How unsearchable his judgments,

and his paths beyond tracing out!

34'Who has known the mind of the Lord?

Or who has been his counselor?'  [Isaiah 40:13]

35'Who has ever given to God,

that God should repay him?'  [Job 41:11]

36For from him and through him and to him are all things.

To him be the glory forever! Amen."

Romans 11:33-36  NIV

~Blessings,
Mike C.

"Guessing the identify of the anti-Christ"

Hi Everybody,

As a watcher on the wall it is interesting, and even fun in a sense, to try to figure out who the anti-Christ is going to be.  At this late date he is obviously alive somewhere in the world.  I suspect that he is not even aware of who he will become since he has yet to be indwelt by Satan.  A lot of us have speculated that he is Barack Obama because the Big O has done so much damage to both America and the rest of the world.  Maybe Obama will be the anti-Christ.  The biggest obstacle to Obama fulfilling this prophetic position is that he did not come out of the ashes of the Roman Empire.  Or did he?  Who can know for sure where he was born?  The problem I have with naming Obama as the anti-Christ is that he seems to fit too perfectly.  Maybe I have been watching too much television, but the bad guy is always the last person that you would expect.

At this moment in history I would expect the anti-Christ to be a major player in the political and the economic world and yet still be in the shadows.  Somebody who calls the least amount of attention possible to himself.  He would certainly have to be filthy rich and immensely powerful.  At the same time I would expect him to be a person that we know incredibly little about.  Moreover, I would expect him to be a person who just feels evil, like a pair of sinister eyes in the blackest shadows of a darkened room.

If I were a betting man. I would place my money on somebody like George Soros.
