"Re:  Spectacular Works Theory"

Hello, John and Doves,

On the heels of spectacular theory, one must realize that one doesn't go about trying to figure out what God means in the Bible before doing anything.

Always read the Bible ahead of time.  That way, God has something to work with when you ask Him what you should be doing at any given moment.

It is written,
"NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
Psalm 119:105  KJV

At the same time,
    "4Delight yourself in the Lord

and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5Commit your way to the Lord;

trust in him and he will do this:

6He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,

the justice of your cause like the noonday sun."

Psalm 37:4-6  NIV

Indeed, when you are going along your way,
Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go," whether to the right or to the left.
Isaiah 30:21  NLT

No worries!  No need to study, study, study, wonder, wonder, wonder, and hem and haw!
The LORD Himself will guide you from inside, if ever you have invited Him onto the Throne of Your Heart!  All you have to do is keep in the Word.  That means reading, listening and doing.  It is a way of life.

That is why Jesus says,
"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father, except through me."
John 14:6

It is written,
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
Romans 8:14  KJV

Again, it is written,
"8For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
Ephesians 2:8-10  ESV

As regards Sundays, Rabbi Shaul says,
"One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind."
Romans 14:5  NIV

As regards the careful parsing of doctrine, Jesus promises His disciples,
"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
John 14:26  NIV

There you go.  And wherever you go, there you are.

End of story.

Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai!

~Blessings,
Mike C.
