I've seen several posts about the ice sheet meltdown in Greenland, but I haven't noticed any of them mentioning the significance of the date that this began.  If it has been mentioned in a previous post, sorry but, I missed it.

The date the melting began was July 8th.  This was Tzom Tammuz, the beginning of the Three Weeks of Sorrow, on the Jewish calendar.
