Hi Brad,
Thank you for your closing summary paragraph. I agree that
it makes a lot of sense, and I thank you for posting it.
Based on the interlinear rendering you offered, it would seem
that Jesus would be the one confirming the covenant because it
states "...MY sacrifice and drink-offering shall be taken
away". I don't think scripture would be written from
Satan's perspective without directly attributing it to him, such
as the conversation with Eve in the garden, or the quoting of
his intentions, "I will be like the Most High...".
Besides, if the Jews were in the habit of offering sacrifices
and drink-offerings to Satan (ignorantly, or otherwise), why
would he stop them, right?
