"Understanding The Alcoholic"

If one really wants to help the person addicted to alcohol, we have to understand how they got there in the first place.

The vast majority of alcoholics and drug addicts that we find on the streets, all have a similar story: abuse as children, physical and emotional.
All believe that they are  worthless and deserve nothing.

We show them their worth in God through Jesus and they come away from their life on the street and get weaned off the substance.

It does NO GOOD to tell them they are a rotting corpse in Gods eyes, or that they are a low life and some how sub-standard.

THEY ALREADY BELIEVE THIS.

They need to know how much value they have to the Father and how Jesus gave all of Himself FOR them.

I'll never forget one young man, when we told him his high worth and value IN GOD'S EYES, he sobbed uncontrollably.

It does no good to condemn the drinker and drug addict.

They are already so terribly self condemned. That's why they stay drinking, to kill the pain.

Have mercy on them and SHOW THEM THE FATHER'S LOVE THROUGH MESSIAH!
