Elliott Hong’s letter of 2 July commented: “Harvey Troyer's post yesterday claimed that it was July 4, 1777 when the very first American Nation Flag was officially raised and dedicated ceremonially, not July 4, 1776. Even if it's so, this coming Independence Day is the 235th, not the 234th. So how does it fit? I understand that we're still in the
234th year until the day before the Independence Day.”Now I am Australian, but I have taken a strong interest in United States dates, and considered (with others) that there may have been a link to the Vincent Tan number (234) and 234 years from Independence Day on 4 July 2010. This date came and went, so I was interested when it resurfaced in Harvey Troyer’s post. Elliot Hong asked how could this fit. One possibility, with the starting point of 4 July 1777 (what a wonderful number!) is that 4 July 2012 could mark a threshold, foreshadowing a transition from one spiritual time on Earth, especially for the United States, to another (an acceleration of God’s purposes on Earth and in the Church.
I have mused on the 234 number, and the next number in the sequence is 235. Based on Pastor Riley’s Doctrinal Significance of Numbers, the transition would be from four - flesh and the natural man - to five - grace and mercy. There are so many pointers to 2012 being a pivotal year, and we are on the verge of an increased intensity of God’s judgments on Earth, and in His Church. This may, however, lead to a (temporary) opening of the door of grace and mercy of Jesus Christ as the Spirit is poured out from on High upon all flesh. This would hold back, albeit just for a time, greater judgments.
What is interesting about 235 is that when divided by five (the shift from four to five), you get 47. This may point to Isaiah 47, a prophecy that is directed to the Daughter of Babylon, not Babylon itself. This may have reference to the United States, including New York.
