"Robert Rose. Re: my witness to Mormon missionaries"

Hi Robert,
I am sure you have a lot more insight and info on the Mormon religion than I do.  However I know a little about the religion myself.

I would like to share with you and the doves on the approach I used to witness to two missionary elders who paid me a visit.

After the introduction chit-chat, I very politely asked them if they believed Jesus is God.  Their reply was Jesus is the Son of God.  I told them I agreed but did they believe If Jesus IS GOD!  I got the same answer:  He is the Son of God.

So I took out my Handy- Dandy KJ Bible since I already knew that is the bible version they use.  The first thing they did was validate my version looking carefully at it to make sure I was using the original KJ, not NKJ or any other version  :-D

So I opened up the Book of John and had THEM read John 1:1---In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the WORD was GOD.

I then had THEM read John 1:14-- and the WORD was made flesh and dwelt among us.
I asked them if the WORD Who became flesh was not Jesus.
( I think their answer was "interesting".
:-)

I took them to 1 John 5:7-- There are 3 that bear record in heaven: the Father, the WORD and the Holy Ghost.  And these three are ONE.

I pointed out the scripture used the WORD, not the Son.  Yet the WORD IS JESUS Who is ALSO the Son.

I then took them to ISAIAH 9:6 letting them know how I love the way the Mormon Tabernacle sings this Scripture!

" For unto us a Child is born.  Unto us a SON is given. And the government shall be upon HIS Shoulders.    His Name shall be called:  Wonderful, Counselor, the MIGHTY GOD. THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace."

I pointed out how Jesus is called the SON, The Mighty GOD, The EVERLASTING FATHER.

Again they found the scriptures "interesting."

When we sat down for this "bible study", I opened in prayer asking The Lord to bless us with insight, understanding and above all to bless us with His Presence.

We closed with prayer too and they thanked the Lord for the time we had together.

Before they left, I asked them if they could share with me when they came into an intimate relationship with God.

One told me, his older brother who had become a missionary coaxed him to get back into the church.  (but I asked about their relationship with GOD, not with the "church"!!!!!)

The other guy simply said he was raised Mormon.

I did not take them any further as they had to go to another appointment.  In any case, God used me to plant a SEED!

I blessed them and sent them off with some chilled bottled water.  :-)

To God be the Glory for using me.  I hope all you who read my post was blessed as well.  I myself felt blessed and honored to share the LIVING WORD with them.
