Could we possibly be on the very edge of judgment upon the United States? What was it like immediately before the flood? What were Noah and his family thinking about, eight days before the flood, before the seven day warning? What about before the two angels showed up, what were Lot and his family thinking about, talking about? What was the topic at their dinner table?Clearly everyone else was going on their merry way, totally oblivious to impending doom.Or what if they started singing, “Revive us again, fill each heart with thy love”?What if they asked for blessing or revival, rather than repenting? What about in the United States? Do we, like after 911, sing, "God Bless America", and seek after revival, rather than repentance?Even now, after so much more wickedness, than 20 years ago, why do we, as a nation, refuse to repent? Some claim that there was a recent national repentance. However, the recent legal decision on Roe, even though it was good, was not national repentance, but a decision of a handful of judges. How have any of us in the United States really changed our minds about things lately, especially where it even led to a change of direction?
Also there is another thought:
Genesis 7:11b the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
It seems that not only did waters come down from above, but they also came up from the fountains below. So, what about a fiery judgment, where fire comes down from above, like it did on Sodom & Gomorrah? Then, what if fire simultaneously comes up from below, like volcanoes?
Also, is it interesting how the LORD provided a way of escape for the man and his family, for both Noah and Lot?Sadly, Lot’s family was not as prepared as Noah’s family, to receive such a warning and to take heed.
If the LORD soon judges the United States, will there be an escape for any of us?If it’s after the blessed hope, then yes.But if it’s before…?A number of years ago, I read the words of a preacher who believed that just as the fires come down, we go up.That would be a pretty nail-biting, very-last-second, kind of escape!
