"When they shall say
Peace and Safety"
Hey John and Doves,
I was pondering over 1 Thessalonians 5:3 (full chapter linked
below). We have to look at the audience this was addressed to.
The early Christians. And, lets face it - most scripture and
prophecy revolve around Israel and the Jewish people. What
happens to Israel, impacts the world.
"For when they shall say Peace and Safety, sudden destruction
comes as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not
escape".
Firstly - Israel is often referred to as "the woman" and is
often described, in Jacob's Trouble, as being in labour. I put
it to you that this prophecy is telling us that it is Israel who
will be saying the Peace and Safety words. And the only way that
Israel would be saying these words is if she felt she had
defeated her surrounding enemies. Of which, there are many. My
reasoning comes from scripture. The Psalm 83 war , I strongly
believe, leads to Isaiah 17 and the destruction of Damascus.
Directly after defeating her enemies, Israeli leaders will be
breathing a sigh of relief and saying - "At last, we have peace
and safety". Little knowing that the armies of Ezekiel 38 (all
currently engaged in a war in Ukraine v Russia) will unite to
attack Israel en masse, as a result of the destruction of
Damascus. Almighty God will put hooks in their jaws and drag
them down from the far north to attack Israel.
I also believe the above scenarios will happen soon - and
quickly.
Please come, LORD Jesus.
