"Our Power to Change
Things"
After indulging in fantasies about winning
millions to have the means to spread the gospel etc., it's
apparent that our power lies in our prayers. Every single thing
that has happened and will happen, lies in the power of Almighty
God. We cannot change things. What is meant to happen has
happened, and what will be, will be.
It's clear that everything lies in cause and effect. Like Adam
and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Almighty God foreknew that they
would eat of the forbidden fruit. He allowed it to happen but
the key takeaway is that of FREE WILL. Because Adam and Eve
disobeyed, sin was allowed into the world. What has not been
explored enough, is that the devil was ALREADY on this earth at
the time of Adam and Eve. I guess this is because free will
means being given a proper choice. Did Eve partake of the
forbidden fruit out of ignorance? Or out of wilful disobedience?
Did Adam agree to join in out of peer pressure/ignorance or out
of wilful disobedience? The details aren't given. Just the very
act of disobeying, sealed the deal. Ignorance was not a legal
excuse. OBEDIENCE is required. As specified in the story of the
Exodus and the command to keep the Sabbath holy to God. All of
this is self-explanatory. But, it is clear that our human
actions (especially those of Israel and the Jewish people) are
key to the affect disobedience has. Israel continues to struggle
with her surrounding enemies because she does not revere the
Sabbath. Israel continues to struggle because she does not obey
the commands of the Torah.
While we Christians have been set free from The Law by our
belief in Jesus Christ, with our faith and trust resulting in
eternal life - we are still vulnerable to the causal effects of
the disobedient world. An apostacy has to happen to trigger the
revealing of the man of sin. Israel has to be attacked to
trigger Ezekiel 38....and so on. Everything is incumbent on the
earthly actions of human beings. What the earthly world does,
triggers a reaction from heaven. Because of our God Given free
will - our earthly actions trigger heavenly reactions.
Which brings me to the power of our prayers. Powerful beyond
description. If we were all truly cognisant of the sheer power
of our prayers - we would be on our knees a lot more. Cause and
effect!
A powerful realisation indeed.
