The early church in Jerusalem never command people to pay tithe to the apostles, because if they ever commanded that,  the whole Hebrew in Jerusalem will ambush and stone them for stealing the Rights of the Levites.

God decreed tithe for the Levites only and tithe was crop and animal offerings not money.

The storehouse to store tithe in the book of Maleachi was not a bank to keep money but to keep tithed crop and tithed animal.

The poor widow who donated 2 coins did not tithe, it was voluntary donation of money that can be given at synagogues or at the temple in Jerusalem, every donated amount was shouted so the book keeper could write it. The church abused this by saying even that poor widow did tithe.

The Levites priests used the tithed animal for sacrifice offerings at the temple and God has Torn down the curtain at the temple, He did not receive any tithed animals offerings anymore.

People like Peter never tithe because he had no cattle and fish was not acceptable, people who sell their muscle to make money such as shepherds or hired workers, carpenters, house builders etc. did not tithe either.

The church nowadays demand :

1. 10% income Tithe is a must, poor or rich

2. Best offerings 

3. Diakonia

4. Building maintenance and service.

Quoting verses about Abraham and Jacob did give tithe DO NOT authorize anybody to ask tithe from people.

Expensive jet planes, expensive cars, mansions, ranch, expensive watches, picnic to Israel, expensive fashions etc. all came from abused tithe verses. Yet No aid for slum area by most churches.

I am not banning anybody to give 10% or 90% or whatever, this is about tithe Biblical or not.
