Also, I totally agree with you that Jesus does not want us confused!

Perhaps that may be why he warned, and had Paul also warn, about not being deceived:

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

  24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

II Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

And will not deceit be the modus operandi of the antichrist and false prophet, who will deceive the world into worshipping the antichrist?

They will also deceive the world, and particularly the kings of the earth, to gather for the great battle against Jerusalem.

II John 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Revelation 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

  14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

  16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

So, if Turkey, along with Iran and Libya, attack Israel, and they were totally defeated, but not by the IDF, could that set the stage?

i.e. at that time the church goes up, and the antichrist and false prophet show up, attributing the defeat to the antichrist?
