"Finishing Strong"

We all know that all scripture is true and used for teaching etc. This is why we don’t camp out on just one scripture, but must look at the whole. Jesus was our perfect example of this when he schooled satan after satan quoted scripture to Jesus as he was tempting him in the desert. Jesus said to him, scripture ALSO says……

People, especially some preachers who preach only some truth are notorious for this. Whether it’s some prosperity preacher who says Christians don’t need to suffer, or someone who says miracles aren’t for today and Pentecostals are of the devil, to any number of any other false teachings too many to list. The now thousands of denominations are proof of how far we have strayed from the original truth of the first gospel.

So now another year where Jesus didn’t come when we thought he should or would, (me included).  It reminds me of the scriptures which speak to this and reminds us that this was all part of the plan to begin with.

While God the father and Jesus his son who told us even he didn’t know exactly when he was coming, to the many who think they know better than he, don’t forget all the scriptures that speak of this and more.

Our bridegroom was and now IS delayed for sure.

No one knows the day or hour except for his Father.

When they say now is the time, don’t follow them, when the son of man comes he will be seen by all. (So date setters are in and of themselves a sign that it’s soon) and I’m not saying they are all bad. He said don’t follow them, he didn’t say don’t listen. There is a difference.

When they cry “peace and safety”, then comes sudden destruction.

On that night one will be sleeping while one is taken and the other left.

On that day, one will be working in the field, one taken the other left.

So another reason why no one can know the exact day except for the father, is that since we are on a 24 hour time scale, wherever it’s night, it’s day on the other side of the world. So when someone says he’s coming on New Year’s Day or whatever, they can never be 100% correct.  Because if it’s New Year’s Day where you are, it’s not on the other side of the world.

Even if Jesus had given us a date, even he would have been wrong because of this small but important detail.

So here is what we can be content with. Jesus said when you see these things (and we all know the many that are now and ongoing), begin to happen, look up for your redemption draws near. I think he was talking about knowing the end of the age, or put another way, our generation, the last one.

One of My favorite verse of all in these times are, “pray that you will be strong enough to escape ALL these things and that you may stand before the son of man”

We need to finish strong, keep the faith and not begin to beat our fellow servants of Christ as some do and even get drunk with the drunkards while still calling themselves Christians.

He’s still coming, it’s sooner than ever and it’s when we least expect him. I used to think this was speaking of only non Christians, because of the passage that says  “ but you brethren, are not in the dark, so that day will not overtake you like a thief”  but now I’m convinced that it’s only speaking of being spiritually ready, or holy when he does snatch us away.

Lastly, we also know that a day is as a thousand to the Lord and a thousand, like a day, because eternity is so long. So to us it seems slow, but to him, it will be perfect timing.

God bless us all as we await our escape. It’s more sure now than ever, since at least we know for sure, we are the final generation and time is certainly running out on that. Since we have seen the beginning of the birth pangs, then we will certainly see their ending as well.
