"JERUSLEM THE KEY TO END TIME PROPHECY?"

JERUSLEM

THE KEY TO END TIME PROPHECY?

Before there was a nation of Israel, there was a city. It was discovered as in existence in the earliest traces of human settlement; a city area, found on a hill in the southeast of the Fertile Crescent Area.  It has been dated from the late Chalcolithic Period (Copper Age) and early Bronze Age (c. 3000 BC.).

Excavations have revealed that a settlement existed on a site south of the Temple Mount, and a massive town wall was found just above the Gihon Spring, which determined the location of the ancient settlement.

In earliest of times it was a city named Urusalim.  The name is likely of western origin and means “Foundation of Shalem (GOD).”  The city and its earliest rulers, apparently the Egyptians, are mentioned in the Egyptian Execration Texts (c. 1900-1800 BC).

The Biblical narrative in Genesis describes two separate occasions of interaction between Abraham and the “High Priest of GOD”, Melchizedek, who is described as “King of Salem” (Jerusalem).

It would appear that a city that was to become Jerusalem had existed even in ancient times.  Maybe it was and always will be “the City of God.” Revelation describes it as the place to which  Jesus will return and will set up His Millennium Kingdom and reside here on earth in Jerusalem.

The point of this discussion is to introduce that the city where Jesus died, ascended and will sometime return should be of great importance to any end time discussion.

In December 11, 1917, there was not a nation of Israel, but General Allenby, out of respect for the City of Jerusalem, walked into the old city and by his action, declared it to be free from 400 years of occupancy of the Ottoman Turks. This British rule led to the Balfour Accord issued on December 14, 1917.

Then on January 23, 1950, Israel declared Jerusalem to be the nation’s capital. Yes, almost 73 years ago.

And then on December 6, 2017, President Trump officially recognized Jerusalem the Eternal Capital of Israel and promptly moved the American Embassy to the City on the 100th

Year anniversary of Allenby’s famous walk.

In January 2020, Israel celebrated the 70th anniversary of Jerusalem as its capital.

And then, in January 2030 the date will mark the 80th year anniversary of the city of Jerusalem as the capital.  Could this be the year that Jesus names Jerusalem as His Capital in the New Jerusalem?  Uhmm?  How long is the maximum of a generation according to the Bible?

Could this be an end date of the prophetic time line?  Seems like many Jerusalem events occur in the winter?  Does the Bible say that the Rapture has to occur on a Hebrew Feast Day?

Are the days from Daniel of 1260 and 1260 for the length of the Tribulation (Time of Jacob’s trouble) valid for calculation of 2520 days from beginning to end?  Could they also be from the end to the beginning?

Could Jerusalem be the key to end time prophecy and not the Nation of Israel alone?

Now where have I heard that before?  Perhaps a time that we think not and do not expect!
