Don't know if this is true but it's worth considering


recent discovery of the writings of the ancient Jewish historian Flavius Josephus who wrote in his book-- The Antiquities of the Jews:  The first Jewish month (Nisan 1)  started at the sighting of the 1st new moon when the sun is in the Aries Constellation.  Making Nisan 1 on May third and Hanukkah from sundown January 17th, TO sundown 25th. 

1st israel election Tue, 25 January 1949 = 24th of Tevet, 5709

24th of Tevet, 5783 = Tue, 17 January 2023 first day of Hanukkah at sundown?
