As Month 2 on the Gregorian Calendar begins, there is a profoundly lovely day on the Christian Calendar Year. Candlemas! It is also called the Feast of the Presentation. On this day of 2-2, candles (often white) are lit.  This happens in the midst of the bleak and dreary mid Winter. The candle light helps to dispel the seasonal pervasive darkness and inspire hope for Spring. Light above all is a symbol for Christ (Messiah) as The Light of the World! The lit candles are displayed on kitchen tables, windowsills, and processions inside churches. Also on this day candles are blessed at churches for later liturgical use. Candlemas, in beauty, joy, and warmth extols CHRIST THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!!! May we partake of this blessed and special day to CELEBRATE the ending of 40 days since Christmas and HONOR He Who Forever Shall Be Our Eternal True Light Of Salvation!
