(Here is an interesting passage about he that sat upon the throne in the new Jerusalem:)

Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

(So, who is he that sat upon the throne?)

  6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

(Alpha and Omega sounds like the Son. Also, the Son said to the women at the well about giving her the water of life.)

  7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

(But, in line 7, that sounds like the Father.

So, who is he that sat upon the throne? The Father? The Son? The Father and the Son? How?)

Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

(I could be wrong, here, but it seems that close personal fellowship with the Father, in the new Jerusalem, will still only be by faith.

We’ll see the Son in his glorified, resurrected body, but the Father will be experienced by faith, as the Son ever reveals him to us.

And, only the blood redeemed children of Adam will experience this – and it is by invitation only!.

And that is what we were created for in the LORD’s own image and likeness, so we could ever have that fellowship.

We will have perfect fellowship with the Father and the Son, yet in the Spirit.)

I John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

(For years, instead, I had always thought we would also see the face of the Father, in addition to the face of the Son.

Probably, because I was just like Philip:)

John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

(I guess I was never satisfied with the thought of only knowing the Father by faith.

I guess that I had always wanted that, Missouri, “show me state”, “seeing is believing”, kind of thing.)

(Yet, our eternal future involves close personal fellowship with the Father and the Son.

And in the new Jerusalem, God’s one throne is called “the throne of God and of the Lamb”:)

Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

  3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

(And we will serve him. Who is him? The Father? The Son? The Father and the Son? How? By faith.)
