Counting inclusive there are 888 days between the Great American Eclipse of August 20-21 , 2017 and January 24 , 2020. Jesus in Greek is 888. Aug 21, 2017 was the day that the eclipse began at exactly the moment of sunset in Jerusalem. The eclipse began just west of Salem , Oregon and moved east across America , crossing "7" different cities named Salem and finally exiting South Carolina into the Atlantic. The maximum period of darkness was 2 minutes 40 seconds.   The path of darkness was 70 miles wide.

It will be followed by another total eclipse on April 8, 2024 which will cross America moving from Mexico and Texas and heading north.
