First we are told in John 12:12-13 that when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on the colt of a donkey on Nisan 10, four days before Passover, which is now known as the 'Day of Palms' because His believers who went out to meet Him took Palm branches with them according to :

John 12:12-13 ( the apostle John )

"On the next day many people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, TOOK BRANCHES OF PALM TREES, and went forth to meet Him  and cried , "Hosanna, blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord."

Next we are told in Revelation 7:9 that John, now the Revelator, sees a great multitude of people from ALL nations , which identifies them as mostly Gentiles, standing before the throne in heaven and before the Lord while wearing white robes and with PALM BRANCHES IN THEIR HANDS. This great multitude is identified in Revelation 7:14 as having washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, we know that this great multitude of people is none other than the raptured Body of Christ Church appearing in heaven after the rapture. 

Revelation 7:9 &  7:14

"After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude which no man could number of ALL nations, and kindreds, and people , and tongues, stood before the throne and before the Lamb clothed with white robes , AND PALMS IN THEIR HANDS. These are they that came out of great tribulation , and have washed their robes , and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

THE QUESTION IS :

Why is it important and necessary that we are told that the raptured Church in heaven are holding PALM BRANCHES IN THEIR HANDS ?
