Is there not in Genesis 2 a different description of the same creation of man that was first mentioned in Genesis 1?Clearly it is not chronologically describing two initial creations of man. Then First and Second Chronicles cover much of the same that is covered in First and Second Samuel, and First and Second Kings.Clearly it is not chronologically describing two similar and completely different histories happening one after the other. Then Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John cover the earthly ministry of Jesus.Clearly it is not chronologically describing four different earthly ministries of Jesus, occurring one after the other. So, is it remotely possible, that some of the seal, trumpet, and vial judgments could be describing the same thing or time?Must they absolutely have to be viewed as chronologically following each other, as they follow each other in the book?Could the following be describing the events that are also described, from a different perspective, later in the book?
Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Or does the heaven depart as a scroll here, and then a few years later, it departs as a scroll again?Does the sun become black and the moon blood here, and then a few years later it happens again?Does what happens to the mountains and islands here, happen again a few years later?Do they hide from the face of, and from the day of the wrath of, the Lamb, both here, and then again a few years later?
I realize the danger of excommunication for heresy, in not sticking with "it's all chronological" in the book of Revelation. However, is there the slimmest of possibilities that some of the seals, trumpets, or vials could be concurrent?Or is that false doctrine at its worst?
