"Having an intimate
relationship with Jesus Christ"
I want to share with
you all what I believe is the most important calling in a
Christian's life - having a personal and intimate relationship
with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. You may wonder just how
does one have this close intimate relationship with the Lord .
Its really quite simple - spend time with Him in prayer, bible
study and Sunday church worship. Out of this will come fruitful
service that the Lord will call you to be involved in
! Corinthians 15:58
tells us to be " steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the
work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain " .
Abounding implies tremendous energy, overflowing with excellence
. And Colossians 3:23 says that " whatever you do , do it whole
heartily as to the Lord and not to men " . We can't do this in
our own strength - God does not want you to be a lone ranger. We
need to spend time as Jesus did , communing with our heavenly
Father , daily reading His Word . Doing this you will feel the
overflow of God's love & grace , which will energize you in
your daily life - knowing that His presence is always with you .
We need to always remember how important a continuing, renewing
, intimate relationship with Jesus is . It is vital to our faith
walk with the Lord
Having this intimate relationship with
Jesus will result in you abiding in His love & grace every
day. John 15: 4-5 tells us to " Abide in Jesus, and Jesus in
you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides
in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Jesus. Jesus
is the vine, and you are the branches. He who abides in Jesus,
And Jesus in him, bears much fruit, for without Jesus, you can
do nothing " . Very cool - so with Jesus we can do
everything and anything He calls us to do
There are so many ways we as Christians believers can
serve God with our lives. Ask God what He wants you to do for
Him. I am quite sure He will tell you if you ask . Start today
letting God use your life for eternal value, making a difference
in this world is the most exciting way to live
have a blessed day in the Lord, Gary Rich
